WATER CHAPEL IN STORSAND

The task was to create a catholic chapel in the area of Storsand coast. The chapel is a kind of sound chamber situated on the water, thirty meters far from the shore. You can get there by the little bridge which appears and disappears according to high or low tide of the sea which means that sometimes you can get there just walking on the water. Here we can find some connection with te Bible and religious myths (purge, walking on water…). Inner platform of the chapel contains 35 whistling pipes which can play 7 different chords and even with small  waves we can hear the music. It is in fact a water organ. The walls of the chapel contain broken fragments of the cross which is visible upon arrival.
